Students Angry After University Pays $32K for Snooki to Speak on Campus

Being a star is actually apparently worth more than being a writer, Nobel laureate.

And not all students at Rutgers University are happy.

Association of University Programming reserved MTV star Nicole "Snookie" Polizzi to appear in Livingston Student Center in Piscataway, NJ for both questions and answers.

The price was a whopping $ 32,000 $ 2,000 more than the university paid for the Nobel author Toni Morrison.

(Fees Morrison was the first time the university has paid for a beginning speaker, reported the Star Ledger.)

University spokesman EJ Miranda said FOX411 Snooker has been fully paid tuition and not a university or government funding.

"Students Programming Board feedback from students about what kind of people they want to speak at the University of entertainment," said Miranda. "The decision is taken by students."

But not all students were thrilled with the decision.

"As a student in the UK, I'm so embarrassed," a student of Twitter.

"My alma mater. You have brought shame to my family," a former student Twitter Friday.

"My education dollars wasted Snooki. Rutgers probably could have paid him with a crate of beer," wrote another student.

"We're talking about two different programs here," said Miranda Morrison vs Snook. "Rutgers has educational programs and entertainment. This was the students 'choice' of those who wanted to entertain them."

According to Miranda, in Snooki appearances have been a success.

Star Ledger reported that two sessions of "Inside the Nicole Snooki 'Polizzi Studio" where she was interviewed by comedian Adam Ace was sold before March 31 event opened its doors.

Students queued all afternoon to secure the bracelet to participate. The $ 32,000 also covered Ace and appearance.

Snooki offered advice to students at the meeting, saying that "work hard but party harder."
